Position Summary
Westman Atelier is seeking an impressive accounting professional with strong attention to detail, a flexible attitude, and willingness to work with our finance team on the monthly close, monthly reconciliations, journal entries, and audit support. As the company continues to grow, this individual will assist the finance team with multiple initiatives, primarily in inventory, sales, and accounts payable, as well as, other accounting-related capacities when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Perform day to day financial tasks, including verifying, classifying, and posting inventory, accounts payable, and general ledger transactions
- Maintain and reconcile fixed asset, software capitalization, depreciation and amortization schedules on a monthly basis
- Post monthly journal entries and prepare reconciliation reports for the monthly close, following up on questions and information requests after review
- Prepare financial reports and documents for ad-hoc requests, regular reporting to teams, and company audits
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures, including the automation enhancement of existing month-end processes
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Investigate variances and reporting discrepancies and communicate issues as they arise in a timely manner
- Support for ad-hoc finance team projects, including FP&A special projects as appropriate
- Support annual Financial Statement audit process & Annual Compliance requests
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance
- 4-6 years of relevant accounting experience; Combination of public accounting (Big 4 strongly preferred, including 1+ years of relevant industry experience)
- CPA preferred
- Solid understanding of US GAAP accounting principles and the monthly close
- Proficiency in MS Office and general ERP experience, preferred
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal, and leadership skills
- Experience working with remote team environment
- Ability to operate with a high level of accuracy, attention to detail with a problem-solving mindset
